Tantra Temple Mysteries

This 5 day journey is a rare opportunity to meditate, experience rituals and tour the sacred Tantra Temples of Khajuraho – a gem rooted into the heart and soul of Tantra. A spacious structure will offer initiation into Tantra teachings, Meditations and Rituals in the mornings and evenings with temple tours in the afternoon.

As we tour the temples Swami Ganga, renowned expert on Khajuraho, shares some of the secret Tantra teachings from Osho about the temples.

The retreat starts at 6pm on the 15th December and runs until lunchtime on the 20th December and you can book using the form at the bottom of this page. It is a gender balanced retreat of 14 men and 14 women – as we approach the date there will be a waiting list if we have to balance in one direction.

Cost: Double AC room 280 Euros p,p (20,000Rps) – you will be sharing with one other person – if you do not have a friend/partner you wish to share with you will be in a room with another of the same gender as you. Please specify on the booking form if there is a specific person you would like to share with.

Schedule

Below is a rough schedule of the retreat and we will be quite flexible with this feeling into the needs of the participants to have a relaxed and enjoyable time together.

8-9am – Yoga Class or Osho Meditation

9-10am Breakfast at hotel – included in package.

10.30am – 12.30pm Morning Tantra session with Sarita or James

1-2pm Lunch at hotel – included in package.

2-6pm Visiting of the temples and time to relax. Guided tours and secret meditations in the temples from Sw Ganga are included in this at the Western Temples, Eastern Temples, Yogini Temple (daily monument fees are not included and these vary depending on nationality and are around 10 Euros a day for westeners). We recommend aslo taking time to wander around the local town and the tribal museum as there are many interesting facets of Indian life down the centuries to be seen.

6.30-7.30pm Dinner at hotel – included in package.

8-10pm Evening Tantra Session or Tantric Ceremony with Sarita or James.

About the Teachers

Swami Ganga

Sw. Ganga was Osho’s tour guide in Khajuraho, whenever Osho went numerous times. Ganga received a very powerful transmission from Osho on the subject of Khajuraho and on Tantra in general. Sarita says “she can really feel Osho’s presence in Ganga’s words and gestures as he lovingly shares his experiences of being with the Master and receiving his wisdom”. Later, when Ganga had become a disciple of Osho and was living in the commune, Osho asked him to go back to Khajuraho and sing Osho’s song, which he has been doing ever since. He runs an esthetic, clean and loving hotel where people can relax into the nurturing ambiance of Ganga and the Khajuraho vibe and this is where we are staying!

Mahasatvaa Sarita

Sarita is a world renowned Tantra master and author of two books on Tantra. She teaches in 12 countries, together with a team of highly gifted co-teachers. She was initiated by Osho into Neo Sannyas in 1973 and remained in His ashram for 26 years, receiving much direct guidance on Meditation and Tantric Relationship. James Stevenson

James is an international Tantra Teacher and Osho Sanyassin who creates festivals of Tantra and Biodanza in many different continents. His passion is in integrating many differing discpiles and wisdom traditions helping us to findout what is real in our direct experience. About Khajuraho

1000 years ago Tantra was a tremendously alive phenomenon. Thousands of Tantrika’s came from all over India and even from faraway countries. Khajuraho was the “Mecca” of the Tantra adepts. In the Temples of Khajuraho the secret intiations and rituals took place under the guidance of the Tantric Masters. Nowadays Khajuraho is a touristic attraction with thousands of visitors. The ancient secrets seem to have faded and only the temples and statues, many of them severely damaged and robbed, bear witness of a different time, a time full of worship, devotion, dance, sacredness, meditation. However, through Osho and Sw. Ganga we again have access to these ancient secrets…

What Osho Says:

If you meditate there, you will know what the Tantra masters were doing. They were creating in stone something that is felt in the ultimate orgasmic joy. It was the most difficult thing to do, to bring ecstasy into the stone. And if the stone can show the ecstasy, then everybody can move into that ecstasy easily. But people who go to Khajuraho are foolish people.

They look either at Khajuraho sculpture as obscene — then they miss the whole point, then they are seeing something which is within their own unconscious; or they are too moralistic — then they don’t meditate on any statues, they are in a hurry to get out of the temple somehow, they just throw glances. Khajuraho sculpture is not just to see, it is for meditation.

Sit silently and meditate for hours. If one goes to Khajuraho, one should live at least for three months there, so he can meditate on each possible inner posture of orgasmic joy. And then, slowly slowly, the at-onement, slowly slowly, the harmony; then suddenly you are transported into another world — the world of those mystics who created this temple. This is objective art. Hotel Harmony is run by Swami Ganga and is just a 15 minute drive from Airport and a 5 minutes walking distance from the western temples. Centrally located hotel in khajuraho. The amenities include: Hi-speed Internet, audio/video conferencing. Souvenir shop selling handicrafts, silver jewellery, etc. at fixed and fair prices. Laundry – Same day, if giving by 9 AM. Cultural shows and theme dinners. RO treated water and Ayurvedic massage. Vegetarian food.
